Biography

Picture
 I was born in Mexico City;  I completed a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts at  The  National University of Mexico  (UNAM),  where  I  graduated with  Honors  and earned a  special mention on my research thesis titled  "The Space in the Drawing".   I have taken different courses on painting, material techniques,  sculpture in iron,  theory of color,  alternative  restoration of murals,  natural pigments, new technical teaching methods, student's psychology, psychoanalysis, and art.
I have completed several internships at the  Universum,  a  Science Museum, worked on the  Planning Board  and the Photography Board from 1996-2000.
I have exhibited with other artists with my paintings,  etchings, engravings and photographs in several spaces, and have exhibited in solo shows as well.
My  work  has  been selected in  three  different  National  level  contests in  Mexico,  earning   First  Place at  Museo del Pueblo Guanajuato,  Mexico,   Festival International Cervantino   in   the  VIII National Biannual of Diego Rivera in 1998 and Second Place in the II Graphic Biannual of the  State of Mexico in the same year.   In addition, two of my projects were selected by Mexico City Culture Minister, Art Everywhere in 2003.
Outside  Mexico,  my work was awarded with a  First  Honorary  Mention,  International Fair of Contemporary  Art  in  Barcelona  Spain,  2007,  and  a  selected piece  by  The Latino Museum, Hybridity American Unity in Los Angeles Downtown in 2010.
I  have  spoken at  conferences  and on  radio  interviews about my artwork  and I have even been selected to be part of the jury for different Art contests.
I  have taught   Color  Theory,   Illustration, Drawing,  Painting,  Visual Communication and  History of  Art for High School and  College levels, beside teaching Art  instruction  to people   of   all   ages.
